FAQS

Unifybr is an open-access fibre network operator focused on delivering high-speed internet to new residential developments across South Africa. We work closely with developers to install fibre infrastructure during the construction phase, ensuring every home is fibre-ready from day one.

Open-access means residents are free to choose from a variety of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) on the Unifybr network. We provide the underlying fibre infrastructure, while ISPs compete to deliver the best value and service.

Unifybr builds, owns, and maintains the physical fibre infrastructure — the cables, ducts, and equipment that connect buildings and homes to the internet.

Think of us as: The “road builders” — they lay down the network that data travels on.

Our partner ISP’s uses the fibre network provided by Unifybr to deliver internet service packages to customers — including speed, data limits, pricing, and customer support.

Think of them as: The “car companies” that offer different types of vehicles (services) to drive on the road (network).

They are the first line of support for any customer issues.

First you will need to sign up with an ISP of your choice. If your development is fibre-ready and your unit is pre-installed, once signed up, and successfully on-boarded by your ISP Unifybr will activate your connection within 2 hours of your order being placed and confirmed by ISP. No technician visit or waiting for installation.

No. All Unifybr-connected homes come with fibre infrastructure pre-installed during construction by your Unifybr. Simply sign up with your chosen ISP and go live.

Visit our Availability Checker on unifybr.co.za to confirm coverage. Then choose from our list of trusted ISPs and follow their simple sign-up process.

Alternatively you can contact our call center on: 087 164 8737.

We partner with a growing list of ISPs to give residents flexibility, competitive pricing, and great service. Visit our website to view current partners and packages.

On signing up for an internet package there will be a monthly fee paid to your internet service provider. Unifybr do not charge any additional fees beyond your monthly contract with your ISP and there is no billing relationship with Unifybr. Cetrain ISP’s may include a once off activation fee as well as the monthly fee’s quoted. Check if your package includes activation fees as part of sign up process.

Ask your developer or managing agent, or check your address on our Availability Checker online. If your unit is part of our network, you can activate fibre immediately.

Speeds vary by ISP, but most offer packages from 25Mbps up to 1Gbps, depending on your needs and budget.

Our focus is on new-build developments, but we are open to evaluating retrofits for select existing buildings. Contact us for more information.

You’ll find a pre-installed fibre point in your unit. Just pick your ISP, sign up for your package and you’ll be online within 2 hours once ISP has confirmed signup—no installation delays.

Yes. One of the key advantages of open-access is the ease of switching between ISPs without any need to change the physical infrastructure.

You should first contact your ISP for support. If the issue relates to the fibre infrastructure, they will escalate it to us for resolution.
